Freelance Senior Data Science Consultant at MLAI

August 2013 - Present

  • I trade under the name MLAI Consulting to grow my client base for data-science projects. I consult on a wide range of projects within data science from designing and implementing custom data architecture to building bespoke machine learning models. I have experience in several industries, including financial and healthcare.
  • Previous clients include: LEGO, ISEH and Nuffield Health.

Researcher/Visiting Researcher at The Alan Turing Institute

July 2017 - October 2019

  • As a Visiting Researcher I had the opportunity to be readily available for collaborations with the Turing and their clients. This included taking part in data study groups and volunteering on Turing projects including NHS Scotland’s SPARRA.
  • As a Researcher I was a data analyst on a collaboration with Roche, studying the use of machine learning on advanced non-small cell lung cancer data.

Systems Project Manager at Free2Learn and Display London

March 2016 - February 2017

  • I began at Free2Learn as an accounts assistant, helping with general accounting and administrative duties including payroll, invoicing, and reconciliation in QuickBooks Pro.
  • I was later promoted to Systems Project Manager, in which I continued my accounts assistant duties as well as designing and implementing a CRM in Salesforce that automated several complex processes, including billing, database integration of separate company subsidaries, and real-time monitoring of live contracts for studio rentals.

Recruitment Assistant at Telecom Plus

April 2015 - June 2015

  • As recruitment assistant my primary duties included selecting candidates from CVs and online test results, conducting telephone interviews, and helping to co-ordinate assessment centres.
  • I also worked alongside the financial controller to build an Excel program, using VBA, that allowed comparison and analysis of several extensive non-compatible databases with over a million rows.

Currency Analyst at Caxton FX

September 2014 - March 2015

  • Primiarly I wrote daily, weekly, and monthly currency reports for a database of over 8000 clients. Including briefings on currency movements for major currencies and tracking important events influencing these. As well as bespoke reports for short- and long-term currency prospects for corporate clients, and telephone briefings for private clients.
  • Additionally, I automated several of these tasks using VBA in Excel and created databases for company live-updates on exotic currencies and real-time monitoring of client positions on forward contracts.
